ur story begins in September of 2006 when two Lubbock-based businessmen involved in various restaurant endeavors joined forces to create a new Mexican food concept, Las Brisas Mexican Grill. On December 5th, 2006, the new restaurant opened to the public, boasting traditional Mexican cuisine crafted from fresh ingredients, situated in an upscale environment. At this time, the market for upscale dining was growing at a tremendous rate, and the owners and management set forth to further develop the concept into a restaurant capable of fully capitalizing on new market trends.
The culmination of these efforts was an evolved concept, Las Brisas Southwest Steakhouse, which blended the original concept with Reserve Black Angus steaks prepared in specialty broilers capable of reaching cooking temperatures of twenty-five hundred degrees. The new concept launched to much fanfare in April of 2007, with a devotion to a superior product and superior service.
Between 2007 and 2010, multiple menu augmentations blended seafood and upscale cuisine into the mix, and the focus shifted from offering Mexican food dishes to dishes infused with a southwest flair. Dedication to excellence took center stage, and the concept began to receive annual accolades on both local and national stages.
In September of 2010, an investment group headed by restaurateur Kendall Howard purchased the Las Brisas concept. Mr. Howard’s group brought with them not only a renewed dedication to excellence, but an eye toward expansion. In April of 2011, a fresh seafood line was introduced. May of 2012 saw the launch of a catering division and delivery service. Additional store locations are on the horizon and our future looks bright.
